As Blossom Rock continues to bloom, keeping our streets beautiful is truly a team effort — and one area that often causes confusion is the parkway zone.
The parkway zone is the area between the sidewalk and the street in front of your home. Because it sits outside your yard wall and looks similar to common area landscaping, it’s a very common (and understandable) misunderstanding that the Association maintains it.
Part of that confusion comes from the fact that the Association does care for the parkway trees and the irrigation that serves those trees. However, the rest of the parkway area is the homeowner’s responsibility.
Homeowner responsibilities include:
Removing weeds before they spread — read this blog to help identify and and eliminate common offenders
Maintaining and replacing shrubs or groundcover
Repairing and maintaining irrigation (excluding tree irrigation)
Keeping the area neat, healthy, and well-maintained
Recently, we’ve seen weeds growing quickly in many parkway zones, and addressing them early helps keep the entire neighborhood looking its best — and prevents seeds from spreading to nearby homes and common areas.
What the Association maintains:
Parkway trees
Irrigation that specifically serves those trees
Everything else within the parkway zone belongs to the homeowner to maintain.
By caring for your parkway zone, you’re helping preserve the beautiful streetscapes that make Blossom Rock feel welcoming, polished, and uniquely ours.
Thank you for doing your part to keep Blossom Rock looking its best.
