Community Captains

Foundation for a thriving community

Blossom Rock is built on the foundation of community members who prioritize community interests over personal gain. Together, residents lead initiatives that inspire a vibrant culture, utilizing their unique strengths, talents, and passions.

About the program

The Community Captains program is designed to ensure that residents stay connected.

This ongoing commitment encourages residents to get involved, gain a deeper understanding of the Blossom Rock vision, grow relationships with neighbors, establish and maintain traditions, and work collectively on initiatives with a meaningful impact.

Community captains help to connect neighbors to their surroundings and to each other. Your community captains cultivate strong neighborhood engagement and provide a channel of communication between residents and the Blossom Rock Community Assembly.

Mission & Roles

Community captains have a lasting impact on their community and preserve the legacy of Blossom Rock. The Community Captains program aims to foster connectivity through three roles.

1. Welcome new neighbors.

Captains provide new neighbors with a welcome gift and important information, ensuring a smooth transition into our community. If you’ve recently moved into the community, fill out a welcome gift request form and find your community captain

2. Connect the neighborhood.

The best way to create strong communities is to build camaraderie by encouraging involvement in events and philanthropic efforts. Captains will bring their neighbors together through smaller events throughout the neighborhood.

3. Serve as a community liaison.

Captains are empowered with the latest information, have unique access to community partners, and participate in behind-the-scenes work that they can then provide to their neighbors, serving as a liaison to the Blossom Rock  Community Assembly (BRCA).

Commitment & Membership

The Community Captains program requires strong commitment and involvement, including: regular attendance, full participation, and carrying out the duties and projects associated with the program’s mission.

The program provides an opportunity for community members to work together with the BRCA to create, lead, and execute initiatives and ideas that engage and connect the community. Captains should exercise creativity and thrive in a self-organizing model, have drive and determination, commitment to the program, and support the essential vision components of Blossom Rock. Lastly, members should be good neighbors and leaders.

To become a community captain, complete an application and attend orientation. Community captains continue their training and participation by attending regular meetings that focus on keeping the lines of communication open, moving neighborhood projects forward, hearing from relevant speakers about issues impacting the community, and providing accountability on the community captain mission.
