Ikaika Maldonado - Engagement Manager
What originally drew you to join the Cohere Life team at Blossom Rock?
I was drawn to Cohere because of its commitment to authentic community building and intentional placemaking. When I learned about the opportunity at Blossom Rock, I was inspired by the vision of helping shape a brand-new community from the ground up. It felt like the perfect place to bring energy, creativity, and purpose into something meaningful.
What part of your role brings you the most joy or personal satisfaction?
Welcoming new residents is hands down my favorite part. Seeing people light up when they feel seen and valued, especially in a new chapter of their lives, is incredibly fulfilling. I also love bringing events to life — creating experiences that bring people together and make lasting memories.
How do you hope residents feel when they interact with the Cohere Life team?
I hope they feel genuinely cared for, heard, and supported. That they know we’re not just here to manage, but to connect — to help them feel at home, whether it’s their first day or they’ve been here from the beginning.

What’s a personal hobby, passion, or interest that you love bringing into your work with the community?
I love storytelling and creativity — whether it’s designing engaging flyers, brainstorming event themes, or simply capturing meaningful resident moments. It helps me share the heart of our community in ways that feel both personal and inspiring.
If the community could know just one fun or surprising fact about you, what would it be?
Fun-Fact I have a horse and I like to team rope on my free time with my friends. I rope off my mustang that I gentled and trained.

How do you hope to engage with residents in Blossom Rock?
I’m looking forward to meeting residents as they move into the community and getting to know them through our events and gatherings. Building relationships early on is important, and I plan to be present, approachable, and actively involved from day one.

Trust, transparency, and a spirit of collaboration are key. A strong community is built when people feel heard, supported, and part of something bigger than themselves.
Is there anything else you'd like the Blossom Rock community to know?
My door is always open. I’m here to serve the community and to help ensure that Blossom Rock is not only beautiful, but also welcoming and well-managed. I’m committed to working hard on behalf of our residents and creating a place we’re all proud to call home.

After spending over three years working for Cohere at Eastmark, I was excited by the opportunity to join a community like Blossom Rock while it’s still in its early stages. There’s something special about being part of a place as it takes shape — helping to build the culture, form connections, and watch it grow from the ground up.
How would you describe the community culture you're helping create here?
The culture at Blossom Rock is warm, inclusive, and full of possibility. We’re fostering a space where neighbors become friends, where ideas are welcomed, and where everyone feels seen and valued. It’s the kind of place where a casual hello can turn into a long, meaningful conversation.
